DanFeng High School’s Flexible Learning University Experience Program for Sophomores
In the rapidly evolving tech era, artificial intelligence is set to redefine the rules, compelling both businesses and individuals to prepare for the future. For high school students who are on the verge of choosing their college majors, gaining early insights into university programs is critical for staying ahead of the curve.
This semester, the College of Management collaborated with DanFeng High School to offer a series of micro-courses. Professors Wu Chi-Tsung, Yeh Cheng-Ta, Lin Ya-Wen, and Tung Wei-Feng from the Department of Information Management delivered five courses covering cutting-edge topics, including Generative AI, Machine Learning, NPO Digital Transformation, and Design Thinking for Sustainable Innovation. These trending concepts provided a foundation for technological enlightenment, giving high school students an early introduction to information technology. Despite the cancellation of Professor Wu Chi-Tsung’s first session due to a typhoon, he proactively shared the course materials with the students to ensure uninterrupted learning.
The primary objective of these flexible learning micro-courses is to empower students with the autonomy and capacity for self-directed learning while facilitating early career exploration and clarity of aspirations. Through partnerships with various high schools, the College of Management offers diverse electives and micro-courses aimed at helping students explore potential university majors. The DanFeng High School program was conducted at Fu Jen Catholic University (FJCU), allowing students to experience the university’s campus and learning environment firsthand.
The final session of the semester concluded with joyful group photos, marking the end of a fruitful program. Sophomores are encouraged to participate in the 2025 FJCU Open Day on March 8 to explore 12 colleges and 52 departments as they prepare for next year’s college entrance exams.
